Developing Healthy Team Relationships

A healthy and strong team is more than just intelligence and talent. It's about developing good relationships as a team, too! One of the best parts of being on the ChenMed Marketing Team was the diversity of people I got to work with everyday. We met every morning for a team huddle to discuss our highs, lows, and team updates. As we developed this huddle, I got to be on the committee that planned this Daily Stand-Up. I not only got to host it, but plan fun games and icebreakers during the holidays.

My favorite memory was planning our yearly Candy Cane Olympics. Since the half of the team worked remote and the other worked at the corporate office, I had to figure out how to create fun in-person and virtual games that everyone could participate in. The winning team would be the winner of the coveted trophy and would have their pictured displayed at the corporate office all year long. Our team looks forward to these games every year.

Being a part of this committee did take up extra time and effort, but I was able to develop good relationships with team members and leaders. I was able to put into practice other abilities and skills, like planning and strategic thinking. Sometimes taking the time to do these extra curricular activities is what made me a better and more influential leader within my own team, and I am grateful for it.
